William Lee Bowden, 77, journeyed Home on May 30, 2018 in Lampasas, TX surrounded by loved ones. William Lee was born May 25, 1941 in Louisburg, NC to Walter William Bowden and Willie Lee Perry Bowden. William attended Edward Best High School in White Level and lived for many years in Butner, NC.   SFC (USAR) William Lee Bowden (Bill) was a proud veteran, joining the US Army in 1958, having served 21 years which included 2 tours in the Vietnam War and tours of duty to other countries. After retiring from military service, he served another 21 years in Civil Service in support of the US Army. After his retirement he enjoyed many years of RV traveling adventures across the US with his loving wife of 37 years, Chris. Bill also enjoyed riding motorcycles and many years of piloting his own plane. He was a proud Mason, member of the Mt Horeb Masonic Lodge #137, having served in the past as Worshipful Master. He was past member of the Bluebonnet Model A Club. Bill enjoyed his daily trips to the coffee shop to meet with friends. He was a faithful man of God and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kempner. William Lee is survived by his wife, Christina Day Bowden;   5 children, Frances Bowden Allen (NC), Walter Elton Bowden (Kathy, FL), Wendy Bowden Shamma (TX), Christina Clodfelter Morris (NC) and Ginger Clodfelter Pullen (Greg, TX), sister, Bonita Bowden Terry (GA) , 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; numerous loved ones and friends. He is preceded by 3 brothers and 1 grandson. Visitation is scheduled June 5th, 6-8pm Sneed Funeral Home, 201 E 3rd St Lampasas. Funeral Service is scheduled June 6th, 10am First Baptist Church 11915 US 190 Kempner. Burial with Military Honors 1pm, Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery 11463 TX-195, Killeen. Memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Kempner or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
