Wiley Holloway

August 12, 1943 — August 12, 2022

Gordon Wiley Holloway, Jr. (Wiley), age 79, of Lampasas went to Heaven peacefully in his own home in the arms of his two oldest granddaughters on August 12, 2022.

Wiley was born on August 12, 1943 (only he could accomplish arriving and leaving on the same date) in Aubrey, Arkansas to GW Holloway, Sr., and Lula Mae Holloway.  He was born and raised in the same home until he married in 1962.  He went to high school in Aubrey, Arkansas where he graduated third in his class.  He played basketball and worked for the school by driving a school bus.  Wiley married JoAnn Mckinney in September 1962 and they had two daughters, Tammy, born in 1963, and Cheryl, born in 1967.  In 1971, the family made the big move to Texas (Thank God!) due to Wiley getting a job with the Santa Fe Railroad.  Wiley was active in the First Baptist Church in Lampasas since moving to Texas.  He enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes and was active in his daughters' lives.  He attended all their concerts, sporting events, performances, etc.  He missed nothing unless he was away with work.

He had four beautiful granddaughters, Heather, Kaylee, Gabrielle, and Devon and he was very active in their lives and participated in everything they did.  He was very proud of his family and loved them with all of his heart.  If you asked his family to describe him, they would tell you that he was the strongest man in their lives and extremely honorable.  He could also be stubborn, which his youngest daughter will carry on that trait for him!  In his last days, he didn't always remember who we were in person, but when he talked about us, he described how much he loved us.

Wiley was preceded in death by his parents; his oldest daughter, Tammy Michele Gadsby, his only sister, Betty Gannon.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Holloway; daughter, Cheryl Feighner (Terry); granddaughters, Heather Romine, Kaylee Ybarra, Gabrielle Feighner, and Devon Feighner; great-grandbabies, Josslyn, Tucker, Cody, Kemry, and Easton and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the First Baptist Lampasas Pre-school.
