Wanda Jean Langford

Wanda Langford, age 89 of Kempner, TX, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 17, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 20, 2023, at Sneed Carnley Funeral Chapel in Copperas Cove. Burial will follow at Gillum Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Wanda Jean Williams Langford was born on August 11, 1934, at home in Oakalla, TX to the late Grace Cameron Williams and Hermer Williams. She attended 1^st through 9^th grade at Oakalla, TX and graduated from Briggs High School in May of 1950. She attended Jackson Business College in Lampasas, TX, graduating in May of 1951. She began working at Post Quartermaster on Ft Hood. Wanda married Keith Darrell Langford on March 8, 1953, and their family would only grow from there. In 1967 Wanda and the family moved to Bryan, TX where she worked as an editor at Texas Transportation Institute at Texas A&M University. In 1979 Wanda, Keith and the family moved to Killeen where she would go on to serve as the Credentials Manager with Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, retiring in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith D. Langford; daughter, Vickie Langford; son, Darrell Langford; her parents, Grace and Hermer; sister, Marlene Rhamy; and brother, Truman Williams.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Leslie Thompson and husband, Bryan of Pilot Point, TX; granddaughters, Amy Roberts and husband, Torrey, Christie Morris and husband, Sam, Ashley Thompson, and Julie Jacque and husband, Russ; grandsons, David Lorenzen and wife, Heidi, and Trevor Thompson; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Emma, Mason, Noah,  Cooper, Caleb, Allan, Abigail, and Hannah; sister, Joan Vann Bates, and sisters-in-law, Myrt Williams, Martha Langford and Sheila Brewer and husband, Joe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
