Viva Paris, age 75 of Copperas Cove, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services.
Viva was born on September 9, 1942, in Canton, Texas to the late Nolan and Lois Stanley Prestidge. She grew up in Canton and Grand Saline. She married Garry Paris on July 15, 1960. She and her husband have resided in Copperas Cove since 1977. She was a correctional officer at the Hilltop Unit in Gatesville, retiring after 13 years of service. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #1070 in Copperas Cove and member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Garry Paris; daughter, Cynthia Paris of Blue Ridge; son, Chuck Paris and wife Janice of Flower Mound; brothers, Jerry Prestidge and wife, Jeanette of Hawkins, James Prestidge of Grand Saline, Mike Prestidge of Winona; three grandchildren, Taylor Franco and husband, Kyle, Corey Paris and Chad Paris all of Flower Mound.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to the Texas Humane Heroes, no-kill animal shelter, 5501 Clear Creek Rd. Killeen, TX 76549.
