Paul J. La Pointe, age 88 of Copperas Cove, passed away on May 25, 2018 at his home.

Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.

Paul was born on March 9, 1930 in Burlington, Vermont to the late Frank and Marie Moisan La Pointe. He grew up in Burlington, Vermont. He entered the Army Air Corp. at the age of 17, serving in WWII with the Army of Occupation and supported the Korean and Vietnam Wars with food inspections.  He retired after 20 years of service in 1967.  He married Marie A. Trottier on August 27, 1955.  They have resided in Copperas Cove since 2016.  He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie La Pointe; three children, Vicky La Pointe, Michelle Haygood and husband, Joe, Paul A. La Pointe; three grandsons, Brandon Coony, Brady Haygood and Tyler Haygood; and one great-grandson, Noah Coony.
