Tona Elbertine (Lively) Ware passed away Monday February 18, 2019 in Lampasas, Texas at the age of 89. She was born April 25, 1929 in Lampasas County to Lloyd Elbert Lively and Velma Oree (Faught) Lively. She was the middle child of three daughters. Elbertine and her sister Burnell grew up in a farming and ranching family, living both on the Roscoe Perkins Ranch and Bean Ranch until settling on the Barnes Ranch near Adamsville. She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1946. She attended Tarleton State College for two years and then entered nurses training at Hillcrest Memorial Hospital in Waco and graduated that program in 1951. She did private duty nursing and later worked as a surgical scrub nurse and office nurse for Dr. W.M. Brook. She began working as charge nurse on floor duty at Rollins Brook Hospital in 1963 and retired in 1990. She enjoyed being a nurse and taking care of patients and their families. Elbertine was married to Marvin Burt Ware on September 18, 1951. They were happily married for 62 years. She liked cooking and decorating for birthdays, holidays and other family get togethers. She enjoyed working with her plants and flowers, crochet, embroidery, camping, traveling and especially time spent with her family. She was a member of Bethleham Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 Daughters; Linda Hood (Bill) of Round Rock and Joan Ware of Lampasas Son, Danny Ware of Lampasas 7 grandchildren; Mark Hood, Lauren Hood, Michael Hood, Kyle Butts (Johnni), Kelsi Davis (Brandon), Mindi Pratus (Charlie), Tamera Elkins (Josh), 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant sister Rose Lee, by parents, by husband and by sister, Burnell Hamilton. Visitation is Friday February 22, 2019 from 5-6 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral is Saturday February 23, 2019 at 11:00 at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Townsen Cemetery near Adamsville. Memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.
