Shirley Joan Blair

Shirley Joan Gaddy Blair age 81 of Lampasas, Texas passed away on March 7, 2018. She was born December 12, 1936 to Amos A Gaddy Jr. and Ellen Julia Sweet of Lampasas, Texas. Shirley is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband John Travis Blair, her brother Andrew Gene Gaddy, her daughter Patti Ann Trist, her son Richard Dale Allen, her son-in-law Paul Bestine, and her great grandson Steven Moreno. She is survived by her sisters Joyce Lindsey (Kenneth), Fort Worth, Texas, Julia Annette Lane (Gene) Lampasas, Texas, daughter Shirley Bestine Austin, Texas, sons John Thomas Allen Jr (Janice) Lampasas, Texas, and James Herbert Allen, Lampasas, Texas, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was a loving, caring, kind, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She loved many and many loved her in return. Throughout her life Shirley had a strong Christian faith. She was a member of Lampasas Baptist Church where she had many cherished friends.        Shirley enjoyed life and making memories with her family and friends. She cherished spending time and holidays with her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places and making new friends along the way. She never met a stranger. Throughout her life she was a homemaker and worked occasionally at different jobs. Her last job was helping her husband, John Travis Blair, run their resale shop in San Saba, Texas. Shortly after her husband passed away she relocated back to Lampasas, Texas. She loved her sweet town of Lampasas and was proud to be back and call it home again.   Our family would like to thank the staff at Lampasas Nursing and Rehab Center for all of their care, love, and compassion. Visitation is Sunday March 11, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service is Monday March 12, 2018 at 11 am at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
