Sfc (Ret.) Tyrant Gossett

Tyrant L. Gossett, 45, of Copperas Cove passed away on January 18, 2016. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday at Scott's Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.

Tyrant was born on November 14, 1970 in Tyler, Texas to Fred and Ernestine Cook Gossett. He graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1988. After high school, Tyrant joined the United States Army and retired in 2012. He served 3 tours to Iraq and also served with Cavalry Division most of his career. Tyrant completed his time in the Operation Test Command before retiring. After retiring, he worked a few years for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a correctional officer and he just started a new job on Fort Hood that he loved. Tyrant married Shelly Romig on January 8, 2001 in Killeen.

Tyrant was preceded in death by nephew, Yemeka Uchegbu.

Tyrant is survived by his wife, Shelly Gossett; sons, Tyrant Gossett, Jr., Trevor Saylors, Tytan Gossett; parents, Fred Gossett and Ernestine Gossett; sisters, La Shonda Uchegbu, Natascha Lee and four nieces.
