SFC Ezra Robert Bunnell, age 79, of Kempner passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday at Scott's Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
Bob was born on March 18, 1937 to the late Ezra and Helen Trestrail Bunnell in Lake Nebagamon, WI. In 1956, he joined the United States Army and served for 20 years. While in the service, he earned many awards including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm. Bob married Mary L. James on June 30, 1961 in Baltimore, MD. After his retirement, he worked another 20 years as a Civil Service employee on Fort Hood. Bob was the founder of the Bluebonnet Model A Club in the Copperas Cove area. He was a well known Model A mechanic.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and two brothers.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary L.; daughter, Charlotte Zornes and husband, Mitchell; son, Ezra Robert Bunnell, Jr., and wife, Sarita; brothers, Frank Bunnell, Albert Bunnell and wife, Joyce; sister, Dorothy Trieble and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Krysten Green and husband, Aaron, Cameron Adams and wife, Katherine, Ezra Dillion Bunnell and wife, Lucy; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in Bob's name.
