Mich Gibson, 86, of Copperas Cove passed away on May 1, 2013 in Harker Heights. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove. Following the service, her cremains will be placed in a columbarium at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery at Noon.
Mich was born on December 27, 1926 in Japan. She married James L. Gibson on March 7, 1969 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They have lived in Copperas Cove for the past 44 years. She was very active in the local community volunteering her time in local hospitals, the American Red Cross, and the Hospital Auxiliary. She also volunteered at local nursing homes in Copperas Cove and Killeen. Mich was active, even serving as president, of the Japanese Ladies Club for a number of years and the Fort Hood Officers wives club. Mich also owned and operated her own dress shop for several years in Copperas Cove.
Mich is survived by her husband, LTC James L. Gibson, USA, Ret. of Copperas Cove; adopted daughter, Grace Willoughby of California; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
