Sarah Leanne Sappington, 27, of College Station, Texas passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018, at her home. Sarah was born May 23, 1991, in Guymon, Oklahoma to parents Steve and Dawn Sappington. She moved to Lampasas with her family in 1997 and grew up here. Sarah graduated from Lampasas High School in 2009 before going on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 2015. While at Texas A&M, she was very involved with Aggie Sisters for Christ. Sarah was passionate about working with children. From an early age she enjoyed babysitting and being around children any chance she got. She was employed by the Becky Gates Children’s Center in College Station as a teacher for the last 7 years. She was engaged to the love of her life, Cody Brockenbush, of Lexington, Texas. Survivors include her parents; Steve and Dawn Sappington of Lampasas Sister; Sadie Sappington (Dylan Kleppel) of College Station Maternal grandparents; Joe and Charlotte Bell of Lampasas Paternal grandparents; Hartley and Barbara Sappington of Georgetown Fiance; Cody Brockenbush of Lexington, his parents Gloria and Charles Brockenbush Jr., and siblings, Jason (Amber), and Clay (Krista Lerche) Maternal great-grandparents; Harold and Yvonne Harton of Lampasas Aunts and uncles; Dean and Marci Tomme, Hal and Sue Harton, Duane Sappington and Betsy Herbert, Greg Bell (Sarah), Jason Bell (Gigi), Doyle and Esther Burchett Cousins; Maddie Grace Tomme, Jaxon Tomme, Scott Harton, Holly Sheppard (Bradley), Buck Burchett (Lexi), Terrie Carmen (Jacob), and Abby Sledge A memorial service celebrating Sarah’s life will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Lampasas. Memorials may be made to support the school she loved, The Becky Gates Children’s Center, in care of the Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, Texas, 77840.
