by her loving family.
Sable was born on November 6, 1929, in Kempner, TX to Douglas McRoy

graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1947. After High School,
she attended Jackson Business College in Lampasas and began working
for Southwestern Bell as a phone operator. She held numerous jobs
throughout her career including Producer’s Produce, Terry Lynn Sewing
Factory, school lunchrooms, Klose Dairy, Clyde Castleberry Real Estate,

her “Mamaw”, while making lots of cherished memories.
Once her own children were grown, Sable became a founding member of
the Lampasas Singles Club where she made numerous lifelong friends.
She was also a member of the Lampasas County Historical Association
and loved anything to do with history and ancestry. She spent many hours
filling in every leaf of the branches of trees in the Vann family history and
was a matriarch of the annual Vann family reunion.
Sable had a love for cooking and baking. She baked cakes and catered
weddings for many years. Every wedding cake, birthday cake, quinceanera
cake, party cake, and her famous peach cobbler came from “Mamaw’s”
kitchen.
Sable married Eugene Groves in 1947 in Mason, TX and they had three
children, J.D., Robert, and Janice Groves. She later married James
Jackson Reynolds in 1954 in Lampasas, TX. and together they had two
