Russell Wilson, 66, of Copperas Cove passed away on December 25, 2012 in a Lampasas care center. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Scott's Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
Russell was born on April 11, 1946 to the late Russell Lyle and Edith Billings Wilson in Trenton, NJ. He attended school in Trenton, NJ before he joined the United States Army. Russell served our country for over 20 years before retiring in 1983. He married Josephine Pellerico on February 18, 1967 in New York. While serving in the Army, Russell was trained in the optical field where he specialized in making lenses. After his retirement from the service he worked for several years for Cove Optical in Copperas Cove. Russell was also a lifetime member of the DAV. He enjoyed making contributions to Skyward Bound Ranch.
Russell is survived by his wife, Josephine Wilson of Copperas Cove; daughters, Theresa Wilson of Copperas Cove, Elizabeth Benzenhafer and husband Joey of Midland, TX; sister, Emma King of Trenton, NJ; brothers, Douglas Wilson of Copperas Cove, Johnny Wilson and wife June of Hamilton, NJ, Charles Wilson of Temple; grandchildren, Kevin Wilson, Aaron Jones, Emily, Melody and Rose Benzenhafer and several nieces and nephews.
