Ruben Valdez

Ruben Ernest Valdez, 75, of Kempner, TX passed away peacefully Saturday, March 21, 2015. Funeral Services will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ruben was born February 27, 1940 in Powell, Wyoming to the late Tom and Estella Martinez Valdez. He joined the United Stated Navy in 1957 and honorably served 3 years and 9 months. Following his honorable military service, he began working for the Army Air Force Exchange service. He had a successful career and retired as a UA 13 area retail manager in 1990. Ruben embraced retirement and the opportunity to spend time with his family and travel.
Ruben is survived by his wife, Doris; his children, Ruben Valdez, Joseph Valdez, Kim Weller, LaRayne Gonzalez, Michael Legore, Nicole Walker and Bevin Lopez and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruben is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Richard Valdez.
