Ronnie S. Gilbert

Ronnie S. Gilbert, 67 of Lometa, TX died Thursday January 10, 2019 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. He was born November 21, 1951 in Abilene, TX, the son of Lowell B. Gilbert and Marjorie Lee (Isenburg) Gilbert. He moved to Lampasas when he was a sophomore in High School and had remained in the area since. Ronnie was a diesel mechanic by trade, a Licensed to Carry Instructor, woodworker, knife maker, avid outdoorsman, active in youth mentorship through Royal Rangers, enjoyed historical pioneer camping and re-enactment. He was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God, where he served churches throughout Central Texas. He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Andrews Gilbert Daughters, Misty Maldonado (Mario), Lora Johnson Son, Bodie Gilbert (Marc Waters) Sister, Karen Taylor Grandchildren; Colt Maldonado (Jessica), Kenzie Hernandez (Scott), Thomi Torres (Anthony) Great-grandchildren; Kaylee Jae Hernandez, Tova Torres, Bella Torres, Kacelyn Hernandez, Kahia Hernandez Aunts; Bertha (Sissy) Gilbert, Jo Hobbs, Cora Isenburg, Laura Gilbert.   Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, by uncle Slim Gilbert.   Funeral service will be Monday January 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at New Covenant Church. Burial will follow in Senterfitt Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday January 13, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Christ the Rock Church.
