Robert Wayne (Bob) Simmerman Sr.

Robert Wayne (Bob) Simmerman Sr. 92 of Evant, Texas died Thursday November 29, 2018 at his home. He was born January 1, 1926 in Anna, IL the son of Ray Simmerman and Flo (Shepard) Simmerman. Bob joined the navy and served during WWII. Later he joined the Air Force and retired as Tech SGT. Bob also fought in war efforts in Korea and Vietnam. He had worked afterwards as a grave digger and school bus driver and transportation director for Evant ISD. He and his wife Betty had been married 48 years. He was proud of his service to country, his family and his work. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jones Simmerman of Evant 3 sons; Robert Wayne Simmerman Jr. and wife Tammy of Evant Andrew Joseph Simmerman and wife Brandi of Gatesville Steven Simmerman Daughter, Sherry Johnson and husband Louis of San Leon, TX Grandchildren; Chanda Simmerman, Nikota Webster, Sierra Stegemoller, Tristan Durant, Chelsea Simmerman, Micayla Simmerman, Louis Johnson II, Alan Johnson, Tiffany Sanchez, Kendra Bushong, P J Jackson, Troy Jackson Several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also.   Bob was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers; Gene, Barney, Lester and Frank and by daughter, Leslie Simmerman.   Funeral service will be Saturday December 1, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Langford Cove Cemetery in Evant.
