Robert (Cheez) Edward Sanchez, 59, of Lampasas, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 6 to 7 pm with a rosary to start at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 12:30 pm at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel followed by interment with military honors at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at 3 pm. Robert was born September 22, 1962, in Dallas, TX to Roberto and Gloria Sanchez. He faithfully served his country in the US Army for 21 years, retiring at the rank of Sergeant First Class. During his time in the military, he served 4 tours in Iraq and earned many awards and medals. After his time in the military, he worked as a civilian mechanic on the Apache gunships continuing his service to our country. Robert was a lover of good beer, loved to collect t-shirts from around the globe, guns, Texas, his pontoon boat, perfectly smoked brisket, his beloved wife and was always down for whatever with those he loved most, his family. He was known to make every ordinary day feel like a special celebration of life and had a bright and infectious smile and laugh that energized every room he entered. He was infamous for his love of the Fourth of July and having the best throwdown and firework display. Robert was preceded in death by his dad, Roberto Sanchez. Survivors include his wife of fourteen years, Connie Sanchez; his mother, Gloria Sanchez; children, Beau Blankenship, Hillary Andrews, Erin Wethey and husband, Floyd; sisters, Carmen Pesina, Cathy Hollingsworth and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Faith, Emma, Jack, Max, Kinleigh; nieces and nephews, Megan, Gary, Erica, Emily, Kimberly, Danny, Lauren, and Amanda.
