Robert (Bob) Lewis Hill, 80, of Lago Vista, formerly of Gatesville, departed this earth into the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ on September 6, 2021.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Gatesville on Friday, September 10, 2021, from 1 pm to 2 pm. Memorial services will follow at First Baptist Gatesville at 2 pm on Friday with Dr. Steve Dominy officiating.
Bob was born September 19, 1940, in Redland, Texas. He grew up in Redland surrounded by a large and loving family. Sports were an important aspect of his life while attending Redland High School, Panola Junior College, and Stephen F. Austin State University.
He married the love of his life, Linda Gayle Turner, on January 30, 1965. Immediately after college, Bob worked many years and retired as Vice President of Products for Anchor Post Products in Houston, Texas. Bob and Linda raised their three children in Houston and Katy, Texas, then entered into the wonderful world of grand-parenting. Bob said being a grandparent to his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren was the career he was meant to have.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Cassie Hill; three sisters, Jean Benge, Charlene Scruggs, and Doris Harrington; brother, Billy Frank Hill; in laws, Vernon and Juanita Turner; sister-in-law, Debbie Turner Barnes, and brother-in-law, Robert Turner.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Linda Turner Hill; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Evelyn Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Paige and John Layton; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Mike Yarbrough; nine brilliant grandchildren and two extra brilliant great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Linda Kay Hill; sister-in-law, Jenny Sandefur, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
Bob would want to be remembered as a Christ lover, lover of family, and a lover of life.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
