Rita Patterson

Rita A. Patterson, 81, passed away surrounded by her family at home in Copperas Cove on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, October 2, 2015 at Scott's Funeral Home with burial following at the Copperas Cove City Cemetery. Visitation will  be from 5-7 PM Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the funeral home in Copperas Cove.

Rita was born on March 9, 1934 in Gloversville, NY to the late Roy and Daisy Kimball Austin. She graduated from Gloversville High School in 1952. Rita married Harvey Patterson on August 4, 1956 in Gloversville, NY while he was serving in the United States Army. She was a devoted military wife and mother. They settled in Central Texas while stationed at Ft. Hood and made Copperas Cove their home in 1972. Rita was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed many things including The Friendship Corner, the 55 and Up and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her sister, Geraldine Gallup and a brother, Roy Rustin.

Rita is survived by her daughters, Catherine L. Calabria and husband, Patrick, Carol Basse and husband, Robert; son, Michael Patterson; sister, Gail Austin; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
