Rita M. Graves, 86, of Copperas Cove passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 in Temple. No services are scheduled at this time.
Rita was born on July 26, 1928 in Tinmouth, VT to the late Guy and Iris Johnson Blanchard. She attended school in a one room school house in Tinmouth before moving to Wallingford, VT. She later married Lyle Graves in October of 1957 in Governor, NY while he was serving in the United States Army. After his retirement at Fort Hood, they settled in Copperas Cove. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Wilma Rose Balestra; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Rita is survived by her children, Frances McNulty, Gordon Graves, Toni Graves; step-son, Steve Graves and wife, Sharon; two brothers; two sisters; grandchildren, Michelle Heinbaugh and husband, Derck, Terri Mowdy-Cordonnier and husband, Dan; great grandchildren, Shane Mowdy and Kristina Heinbaugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to charity of choice.
