WEDNESDAY JANUARY 5, 2011 AT SHEPPARD CHAPEL OF MEMORIES WITH A CATHOLIC ARMY CHAPLAIN OFFICIATING. INTERMENT WILL BE 1:00 P.M. FRIDAY JANUARY 7, 2011 AT CENTRAL TEXAS STATE VETERANS CEMETERY WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS. VISITATION WILL BE 6:00 P.M - 8:00 P.M., TUESDAY JANUARY 4, 2011 AT SHEPPARD FUNERAL HOME IN COPPERAS COVE. MR. HEALEY PASSED AWAY JANUARY 2, 2011 AT A HARKER HEIGHTS NURSING HOME. RICHARD A. HEALEY WAS BORN JULY 11, 1936 IN PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND TO THE UNION OF FRANCIS HEALEY AND MARY McCORMICK HEALEY. HE MARRIED INGE E. HOFFMANN ON JULY 8, 1960 IN KARLSRUHE, GERMANY. HE WAS A COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST FOR THE MILITARY. HE SERVED WITH THE U.S ARMY AND THE MARINES. HE SERVED TWO TOURS IN VIETNAM, ONE TOUR IN KOREA, AND WAS STATIONED THREE TIMES IN GERMANY. HE COMPLETED HIS MILITARY CAREER AT FORT HOOD. HIS DECORATIONS INCLUDE: NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL W/1 OAK LEAF CLUSTER, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL CLASP, BRONZE 5 LOOPS, ARMY COMMENDATION MEDAL W/1 OAK LEAF CLUSTER, BRONZE STAR MEDAL, DRIVERS BADGE, VIETNAM SERVICE MEDAL W/1SILVER SERVICE STAR & 1 BRONZE SERVICE STAR, AND REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM CAMPAIGN MEDAL. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 582, A LIFE MEMBER OF THE V.F.W. POST 8577 IN COPPERAS COVE, AND A MEMBER OF THE 2029 MOOSE LODGE. HE LOVED ANIMALS, WAS AN AVID CAMPER, AND LOVED TO READ. LOVING FAMILY WIFE, INGE HEALEY OF COPPERAS COVE, TEXAS SON, RICHARD ALAN HEALEY, JR. AND HIS WIFE KERI OF BEAUMONT, TEXAs TWO GRANDCHILDREN, LAUREN AND SAMANTHA HEALEY BOTH OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS SON, PATRICK F. HEALEY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS TWIN SISTER, MAUREEN NELSON AND HER HUSBAND CHUCK OF WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND SISTER, CAROL HEALEY OF RHODE ISLAND. TWO GRANDCHILDREN, LAUREN AND SAMANTHA SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, AND A BROTHER, JOHN HEALEY.
