Richard James Carroll, age 68, of Kempner, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021. A celebration of life will be on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 2-6 PM at Camp Caylor, 146 CR 4814 in Copperas Cove, TX.
Richard was born on January 17, 1953, to the late Norman and Lois Hodge Carroll in Sharon, PA. He grew up in Hermitage, PA and graduated from Hickory High School in 1971. Richard was a lifetime auto mechanic who was always tinkering on someone’s car. He worked close to 20 years at Sarvas Dodge as a mechanic. In his later years, he worked for Duferco Steel in Farrell, PA. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, he would be outdoors. Richard loved to hunt and collect guns, which was his passion. He also loved to play guitar, and do paintings and drawings, which he would often give away. Richard had many friends in Hermitage, PA and loved his hometown.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Carroll; infant sister, Cindy Carroll; and a nephew, Chad Hoagland.
Richard is survived by his two daughters, Carrie Carroll and Kaitlyn Carroll, and her boyfriend, Andrew “Andy” Rozelle and their mother, Paula Carroll; sister, Anna Lee Hoagland; two grandsons, Kaleb Hess and Kayden Hess and several nieces and nephews.
