Raymond (Sarge) Mainville

Raymond C Mainville Sr, 68, of Copperas Cove TX died September 21, 2018. “Sarge” Mainville, son of Raymond and Edith Mainville of New Bedford MA, passed away at his home in Copperas Cove, TX. He was preceded in death by father Raymond Morin and mother Edith and is survived by his adopted father Raymond Mainville. He is also survived by his wife Elfriede, their four children, Raymond Jr, Angela, Alan, Joy and five grandchildren. Mainville retired from the US Army as a Sergeant First Class receiving the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. He also worked twenty years for the Texas Department of Corrections in Gatesville. Sarge was always seen around town with a smile and helpful hand. He was a friend to all and a stranger to none. He loved riding horses and served as the American Association of Sheriff Posses & Riding Clubs Vice President for Region 7 for a number of years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held Wednesday September 26, 2018 at Sneed Funeral Home in Lampasas at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Killeen at 2:00 p.m.
