Raymond J. Brouhard, age 93, of Copperas Cove, passed away on July 18, 2019, at his home. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 2, 2019, at Cove Church of the Nazarene, 964 W Hwy 190, in Copperas Cove. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Raymond was born on February 10, 1926, in Simpson, Kansas to the late Walter Brouhard and Viola Frink. He graduated from Hope High School in Hope, Kansas. Ray was drafted during World War II to serve in the United States Navy. Consequently, he was onboard the USS New Mexico in Tokyo Bay as part of the task force that facilitated the Japanese surrender at the end of the war. He married Davida Normandin on May 29, 1949, in Harrington, Kansas. Ray will be remembered as a people person. He tried to always make friends of everyone he met. He enjoyed fishing and traveling with his loving grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy; three sisters, Oral, Josie, and Clara.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 70 years, Davida Brouhard; daughters, Joy King, Delilah Warren and husband, Daniel, Jeanette Agan and husband, James; sons, Ricky Brouhard and wife Jeanene, Darrell Brouhard and wife, Susan; three sisters, Elsie, Carol, Betty; two brothers, Clayton, Jerry; twenty-seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cove Church of the Nazarene, 964 W Hwy 190, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522.
