Ray Wesley Ricker Jr., 91 of Lampasas, TX died Wednesday November 22, 2017 at his home. He was born November 26, 1925 in Detroit, MI on Thanksgiving Day to parents Ray Wesley Ricker Sr. and Hazel (Kurzhals) Ricker. He moved to Texas when he was 2. He graduated from Post High School in May of 1943. He went to work for Santa Fe Railroad for a few months and then joined the Navy at age 17. He was a weapons instructor during WWII. He was honourably discharged in 1946 and went back to work the railroad. He met Doris (Francis) at a skating rink in Lubbock. They were married 3 months later, June 5, 1947. They just celebrated their 70th anniversary. His career with Santa Fe spanned 42 years and after retirement he became an ordained Baptist preacher and pastured 3 churches; Center City, Holt and South DeLeon Baptist. After moving to Lampasas, he did supply preaching for many including Adamsville Baptist, where he was a member since 1999. Visitation will be Monday November 27, 2017 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be Tuesday November 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Adamsville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors include wife, Doris Ricker Daughters; Lee Lanell Stevens (Robert) Deborah Ann Neagel (Larry) 6 grandchildren; Bill Wilcox (Denise), Dana Brotherwood (Tony), Amanda Bratten (Greg), Paige Neagle, Tara White (Mark), Joshua Neagle (Amanda), Jason Stevens. 13 great-grandchildren and 5 nephews also. He was preceded in death by his parents and by 3 siblings
