Rashune Knight

Rashune Antonio Knight, 28, of Copperas Cove, passed away on September 25, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Viss Family Funeral Home, 1614 S FM 116, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522. The service will be live-streamed on our Facebook page at Viss Family Funeral Home.

Rashune Antonio Knight was born on July 11, 1993, in Enterprise, Alabama at Fort Rucker to the proud parents of Ray and Linda Knight. Rashune attended Hollie Parsons Elementary School, Copperas Cove Jr High, and Copperas Cove Senior High School, where he received his high school diploma in May of 2012. Rashune was not only a loving individual but a young man with a “made-up mind.” Right after high school, Rashune began his journey of independence.

Rashune conquered every milestone of young adulthood with flying colors. He secured five years of employment with PCSI, where Rashune excelled in his duties, always receiving praises for his strong work ethic and his reliability. Shawn owned his own car, he also had his own apartment. Not to mention he created his movie review blog: Knight Podcast.

Rashune was a loving son, a loving brother, and a cherished friend. Rashune was one that could warm your heart with his infectious smile, and make you laugh when things appeared to be challenging and not so funny. He had that way with people. Tony and Shelli, his brother and sister, and all of his closest friends can attest that he always had their back and always made them smile.

Rashune also experienced love and heartbreak like many of us. As you can see, Rashune lived a full and happy life during his short stay here with us. Rashune did all this while maneuvering his way on the path of autism. One out of every 54 children in the United States is diagnosed with autism, Rashune was very special.

Rashune leaves his cherished memories with his parents Ray and Linda Knight; his oldest brother, Ray Knight II; his younger sister, Rachael Antionette Knight; paternal Aunt, Lydia Leggett (Anthony); Paternal Uncle, Akil Knight (Kim); two paternal cousins, Ashleigh Morgan (Taurus) and Ty- Colby (Marvin); paternal nephew, Jayden and adopted paternal nephew Gabe. His maternal aunts, Gwendolyn (Lamonte), Janice Agyen (Joseph), Crystal Dillard (Patrick), Annette Biddle (Andrew), and Vanessa Ogunnaike, two maternal uncles, Andrew Smith (Mary) and Wayde Smith (Clara). His three best friends Chad, Ryan, and Terry. A host of loving and caring cousins and friends.

The family of Rashune would like to thank everyone for their prayers, condolences, cards, calls/texts, and words of comfort. Thank you for your presence in person or via Facebook. We truly appreciate you all.
