Randolph Moore

February 20, 1948 — July 10, 2014

Randolph (Randy) Moore, age 66 of Oakalla, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in Temple.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Kempner, with Rev. Don Casper officiating.  Burial will follow at 12:00 Noon at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville.  The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 14th at Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.

Randy was born on February 20, 1948 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He grew up in Gatesville and graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1966.  He married Quillie Hale on June 9, 1966.  They resided in Gatesville most of their married life.  She preceded him in death on November 3, 1993.  He later married Shirley Burleson and they have resided in Georgetown and Oakalla.  Randy was a home builder and a bi-vocational pastor.  After many years in the construction business, he was the pastor of First Baptist Church of Weir and Lake Victor Baptist Church.  After his retirement, he was a farmer and rancher and member of the First Baptist Church of Kempner.

He was preceded in death by his mother, June Frisbee Moore; father, Ernest Moore; step-mother, Bonnie Orvig Moore; sister, Terri Moore; brother, Tommy Moore; and his grandmother, Tabitha Moore-Dixon.

He is survived by his wife Shirley; daughter, June Terry and husband Phil of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Sons, Richard Moore and wife Kelly of Leander, Micheal Moore and wife Kyra of Oakalla, Chris Moore and wife Amber of Lampasas; step sons, Terry Burleson and Rusty Burleson; sisters, Darlena Cobb and husband Russell of Belton and Deanna Lawson and husband John of Beeville; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be given to the First Baptist Church of Kempner, Building Fund, P. O. Box 73, Kempner, TX 76539.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses  and staff at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen and Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, for the care given to Randy.
