Ralph Marez, Sr., 65, of Lampasas passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery. Rosary: 6 p.m. Friday evening at St. Mary Catholic Church, Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to CAPS, Capital Area Parkinson's Society, www.capitalareaparkinsons.org, P.O. Box 27565 Austin, TX, 78755-2565. Ralph was born on October 18, 1954 in Lampasas, TX to Trinidad B. Marez and Mary (Lopez) Marez. Ralph grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1972. Ralph was a hard core Battlin' Badger Fan, he was one of the guys that stood by the fence at the end zone. Never in the stadium. He followed the Badgers every year, knew the players and their stats. He enjoyed watching all types of sports from football, baseball to basketball. He was also an avid fan of Texas sports, but most of all he loved the UT Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. When he wasn't watching sports he enjoyed country cruising with friends and family, playing washers and fishing. Ralph was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa "Christie" Marez; parents, Trinidad B. Marez and Mary (Lopez) Marez; sister, Sylvia Morua; brothers, William Navarrete, Steve Marez, Manuel Marez and Thomas Marez. Survivors: Son, Ralph Marez, Jr. (Elma Sanchez) of Lampasas; daughter, Laura Lee Perez (Francisco Perez) of San Antonio; brothers, Philip Marez (Ophelia Morua Marez) of Lampasas, Alejandro Marez (Christina Gonzales Marez) of Lampasas, Ricardo Marez (Bernadette Ramirez Marez) of Leander; sisters, Eloise Marez Robles (Gilbert Robles) of Burnet, Annabelle Marez Salazar (Ray Salazar) of Lampasas, Josie Garza of Platteville, Colorado, Vera Navarette Garza (Manuel Garza) of Platteville, Colorado; grandchildren, Lillyana Longoria, Timoteo Longoria, Francisco J. Perez of San Antonio, Ralph Marez III of Lampasas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins from California, Colorado, Arizona and various parts of Texas. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the entire staff of Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Century Hospice, St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas, numerous friends and extended family that showed him love and support throughout his life.
