Dennis D. Bradford, age 85, of Copperas Cove passed away peacefully on February 5, 2018, with family by his side. A private family graveside service was held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Dennis Doyle Bradford was born on January 15, 1933, in Minter, Texas to John and Agnes Bradford. He grew up in Paris, Texas where he attended school before joining the United States Army in 1950. On November 8, 1952, Dennis married Joyce Ruble in North Vernon, IN. She supported him throughout his many military assessments. His bravery during the Vietnam War earned him a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. SFC Bradford retired after serving 22 years in the Army. After his military retirement, he worked for many years for the Copperas Cove and Killeen School Districts. He enjoyed maintaining the football fields and enacting with the students. Dennis also maintained the safety of many students transportation to and from school and to many sporting events. Dennis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted family man who accepted everybody who walked through the door as his own. Mr. Bradford, his loving wife Joyce, and their three children moved to Copperas Cove, Texas in 1968.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce; his son, Dennis Bradford II and his wife, Barbara of Blanco, Texas; his two daughters, Catherine Bradford and Angela Andruschek and her husband, Lloyd, both of Copperas Cove, Texas; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way; and two great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He will be missed greatly, but his loving impression he placed on everyone will never be forgotten.
