Po1 William Mcmurray, Sr., U.S. Navy, Ret.

William “Bill” Joseph McMurray, Sr a native of Ponchatoula, Louisiana and resident of Killeen, Texas, passed away at his home Thursday, May 14, 2020. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Bill was born March 28, 1952, to the late Bernard Charles and Mary Saxon Shewalter McMurray. He graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1970. He retired from the United States Navy. After his retirement, he settled in Tyler, Texas and worked in hotel maintenance. Bill loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Michael McMurray; and sister, Janet McMurray Farace.

Bill is survived by his children, William McMurray, Jr, Mark McMurray and wife, Tuesday, Matthew McMurray, Trevor McMurray; six grandchildren; eight sisters, Dr. Mary Anne McMurray, Arlene Elston, Margaret McMurray, Barbara Opdenhoff, Rita McMurray, Marcia Selph, Joan Hoover, Irene Labue; and three brothers, Bernard, Frederick, and Patrick McMurray.
