Patricia Ann Mason was born on September 9, 1946, in Austin, TX to Clarence and Lillian Southwell. She passed away peacefully on June 1, 2023, at her son's home in Lampasas at the age of 76.
Patricia was born and grew up in Austin, TX. She held the distinction of the nickname 'Polly Puritan' as she was known for never using foul language or behaving badly. She graduated from Lanier High School and after high school, she entered the workforce for a time for the State of Texas and then took on the task of full-time housewife and mother until later in life, where she worked for Smithville Hospital in Smithville, TX. After her first husband of 44 years, Guinn Lee Crane passed away in 2010, she eventually met Harvey Mason and they were married and moved to Lampasas to be near her son and family. Harvey and Patricia were married for 12 years until her recent passing.
Throughout her life, she was a model example to the world of what morals and values should look like. She almost never used a foul word, never drank alcohol, never smoked cigarettes, and believed in God and her faith was important. She was a friend to all, never wished harm and never said a negative thing about anyone. She always took the high road to any confrontation and hated any form of argument. She was quick to help anyone in need if it was within her power. Those around her loved her and would be quick to tell you how much she meant to each one. In death, her passing was calm and peaceful with a smile on her face at the last breath like she saw something she anxiously awaited seeing. She will be missed by all.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lillian, and her first husband, Guinn Lee Crane.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Mason of Lampasas; her son and his wife, Chris and Angela Crane of Lampasas; grandchildren, Jonathan Guinn Crane, Elizabeth Saucedo and her husband Nico, and great-granddaughter, Estella, Steven Billingsley and his wife, Angie, and Taylor Billingsley and his wife Knoelle, and great-grandaughter, Grace, and her siblings, Mark Southwell and Pam Hodgkiss.
A memorial service will be held at a future date for family and friends to share in remembrance of her amazing life. Patricia requested no formal funeral or graveside services. A full memorial webpage will also be available to family and friends soon.
