Patricia was born in February of 1944, as the second child to parents Ralph Sr. and Esther Cossey in Birmingham, Alabama. Her family eventually moved to LaGrange, Illinois, where she often recalled appreciating a loving family and friend-filled youth. Patricia graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1962. She then decided to join her big brother, Jimmy in San Francisco.
This move started a 25-year-long career at AT&T (aka-Pacific Bell) as an executive manager in the Software Engineer Division. She retired in 1987 and spent time taking care of her ailing father and volunteering.
In 1967 she married RB Grigsby in San Francisco, and they went on to have 4 children, Jerome, Jennine, Raina, and Annette.
Patricia pursued living out the lessons in the bible and taking care of her physical family and spiritual family. She was passionate about teaching and the state of the US union. She enjoyed reading, movie musicals, video games, science fiction, board games, puzzles, music, working smarter and not harder, caring for the least among us, and her bible studies.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband, RB Grigsby; parents, Ralph, and Esther Cossey; brother, Jim Cossey; and other dear friends and relatives.
She is survived by children, Jerome Grigsby, Jennine J Grigsby- Montgomery and husband, Freddy Montgomery, Raina Grigsby, Annette Grigsby; siblings, Ruth Cossey, Victoria Webber, Ralph Cossey Jr., and Teresa A Cossey; grandchildren, Bruce Shaw, Jamila Grigsby- Winzer and Maceo Winzer, Jonathan Brown, Janay Kennedy, Denice Johnson, Derrick Johnson, Eric Johnson, Tre’Vhon Golden, Destiny Berry; great-grandchild, Jaime Bradford; and many more loving nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
