Patricia Brown

Patricia Brown, 59, of Copperas Cove passed away on March 19, 2013 in Temple. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel.

Patricia was born on September 13, 1953 in Ruschberg, Germany to Walker and Frieda Schweiger Ortego. She moved to Copperas Cove in 1961 from Germany. She attended school in Copperas Cove before starting her family.  Patricia was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post # 8577. She enjoyed her time on Post, working at the cleaners and as a testing contractor. Patricia was preceded in death by her father; son, Christopher Mata; brothers, Gilbert Ortego, Anthony Ortego and her life partner, James Hanley.

Patricia is survived by her mother, Frieda Ortego; daughters, Sheila Mata Lavin and husband, Kerr, Nichole Mata; siblings, Renate McDonald, Clyde Ortego and wife, Rocky, Karen Goforth and husband, Benny; 6 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend, Michelle Hough.
