Nellie Mae Baker

Nellie Mae Cook Baker died September 28, 2018 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple at age 96.She was born August 13, 1922 at Kempner, Texas and was raised there by parents Frank and Texie (Grizzle) Cook. Nellie had lived most of her life in Lampasas county and later in Burnet. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas and a life member of VFW Auxiliary. She worked as a nurse’s aide for a number of years. She is survived by her children; Jay Meyer, Priscilla Luetkenhoelter and husband Wayne, Loretta Collins and husband John, Olivia Meyer. Nieces, Hedy Heugatter and Carolyn Franks Grandchildren, Michelle Meyer, Samantha Sparks, John Melancon, Danny Brown, Tamara Hamm (Scott), 9 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, husband Bill Baker, grandson and great-grandson.   Graveside funeral service will be Wednesday October 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Kempner Cemetery.
