Msg Ross Minnix

MSG Ross L. Minnix, age 79, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at home in Kempner. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Ross was born on December 16, 1940, at Ft. Sill, OK to late Woodrow and Alice Talmadge Minnix. He joined the United States Army in 1958 and retired after 25 years of service in 1983. Ross served two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Korea. They were also stationed in Germany for a number of years. After Ross’s retirement from the Army, he worked as a mail carrier for the Copperas Cove post office for almost 20 years. He married Trudy Kaufman on September 12, 1965. Ross enjoyed working in his yard and took pride in its appearance. He was handy around the house, always staying busy. Ross also enjoyed driving a new car frequently.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents.

Ross is survived by his wife of 54 years, Trudy Minnix; sons, Jeff Minnix, Jason Minnix and wife, Joanna; three sisters, Mickie Coffman, Winnie Tinney, Tammy Sanders; one granddaughter, Erika Minnix.
