Mona Faye Rucktashel Lancaster

Mona Faye Rucktashel Lancaster, 76, of Lampasas, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

Services will be held Friday, July 29, 2022, at First Street Church of Christ at 2 pm with a visitation an hour prior.  Interment will follow at School Creek Cemetery.

Mona was born September 14, 1945, in Amherst, TX to Joe and Louise Rucktashel.  As a child, she moved to Muleshoe and her freshman year in high school was spent in San Angelo.  Mona moved to Lampasas when she was a junior in high school.  She was a cheerleader, played volleyball, was crowned Miss LHS, and helped run the Western Auto store.

Most of her career was spent working as a secretary for Lampasas High School, where she spent 26 years in total.  She was a member of Beta Mu, a longtime member of First Street Church of Christ where she taught bible classes.  Mona was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rita Jackson.

Survivors include her husband, Trent Lancaster; children, Chelsa Istre, Melia Lancaster; sister, Dyna Kohler; grandchildren, Sierra, Sterling, Samantha, Steele; great-grandchildren, Levi Jackson and Grace Istre.
