Mike Medina, a long-time Lampasas resident died Wednesday January 23, 2019. He was 100. Rosary will be recited Friday January 25, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Funeral Mass is Saturday January 26, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mike was born May 8, 1918 in Evant, Texas and lived most of his life in Lampasas. He was a truck driver for over 30 years. It was through his encouragement and support that his wife, Margaret founded “Margaret’s Café” the first Mexican Restaurant in Lampasas County. It flourished for over 48 years and the legacy was turned over to his sson Frank and his wife Sherry. A parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he and his wife led La Cursada Del Rosary, a rosary prayer group for over 28 years and was recognized by then Bishop Flores for their support and dedication to the church. Mr. Medina was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, and a sister, by a daughter, a son, 2 grandchildren. He is survived by 4 daughters; Sally Dimas and husband Lupe, Emily Young, Dolores Medina and Vicky Franco and husband Carlos. Son, Raymond Medina and wife Leticia 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 16 great great-grandchildren. daughter-in-law, Sherry Medina
