Micheal Joseph Tongish

Micheal Joseph Tongish, 79 of Oakalla, Texas died Saturday October 6, 2018 at his home. He was born May 1, 1939 in Oberlin, Kansas the son of Emory M. Tongish and Matilda Cecilia (Leitner) Tongish. Mike graduated from Oberlin High School and later served three years in the U.S. Army. He married Geraldine Smith and they have lived in Oakalla since 1966. Mike retired from U.S. Civil service in the commissary. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Copperas Cove. He recently wrote that he loved airplanes, trucks, tractors, guns, and animals, but most of all his loving wife Geraldine.   Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday October 11, 2018 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Copperas Cove. Burial will follow in Gillum Cemetery near Oakalla. Visitation will be Wednesday October 10, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Sneed Funeral Chapel, with rosary at 7 pm.   Survivors include; Wife, Geraldine Tongish Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Melvin Smith (Becky) Granddaughter, Morgan Tongish   Mike was preceded in death by his parents, by his son Patrick and by sister, Naydeen Pochop.
