Michael Lynn Brown, age 70, of Copperas Cove, found his eternal rest on May 6, 2017. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove. Burial will follow with military honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Michael was born on August 4, 1946, to the late Berlin and Maxine Morel Brown in Lake Charles, LA. He married the love of his life, Kay Tumlinson on October 7, 1966, in Lubbock, TX. Michael served the United States Air Force for four years before joining Austin Fire Department. He dedicated 30 years to the City of Austin. Michael was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church for a number of years. After his retirement, he enjoyed chuckwagon cooking, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Michael will be greatly missed and his family takes comfort in knowing he is resting in God's care.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Brown, and a sister-in-law, Billie Brown.
Michael is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kay Brown; his two daughters, Dawn Waller of Killeen, Amanda Jordan and husband, Jimi of Cypress; four grandchildren, Lane Waller, Jaxon Jordan, Scarlett Jordan, Jake Waller; two brothers, James Brown of Lubbock, Raymond Brown and wife, Belinda of Derby, KS; and a sister, Becky Cordell and husband Randy of Fort Smith, AR. He also leaves behind many close friends and family.
