Melvin E. Wiley

Melvin Ewell Wiley, 74, of Lampasas, TX died Saturday June 16, 2018 at his home.  He was born December 3, 1943 in Georgetown, TX to Robert Ewell Wiley and Louise (Fowler) Wiley. After high school graduation he served in the U.S. Army. Melvin was married to Janie (Carlile) Wiley and she preceded him in death in 1990. He retired from South Western Bell Telephone, having worked in the area for many years. Melvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being with family and friends. He is survived by his son, Travis Wiley and wife Jennifer 2 grandchildren; Britanny Nuckles and Jared Nuckles 2 brothers; Bill Wiley and wife Jackie Larry Wiley Sister, Lynda Maedgen and husband Mike   He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janie, daughter, Christy Nuckles, brothers; Mike, Jerry and Randy Wiley.   Funeral service will be Wednesday June 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Smith School Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday June 19, 2018 from 6-8 at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.
