Melanie L. Delaune

Melanie Lynne Williams Delaune, devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on 9/20/19 in Lampasas,TX. She was born in Wesleco, TX on 2/23/60. Melanie’s family moved to Lampasas in 1965, where she lived most of her life. She also briefly made her home in Stephenville, Waco, and Round Rock. She dedicated 20 years to her work with the Texas Dept of Family and Protective Services. After the passing of her father Richard Williams (“Big R”) in 2017, Melanie continued his legacy through her tireless work with Big R’s underprivileged children’s ministry “His Kids”. She is survived by her husband Robert Delaune; uncle Ronnie Williams; brothers Rick Williams and Michael Williams; children Leslie (Rodhi) Schaub, Jarrett (Holli) Schaub, Adam (Elizabeth) Delaune, Tony (Natalia) Delaune, Douglas (Jen) Kahlstrom; grandchildren Ethan Butler, William Brown, Oliver Brown, Jovi Schaub, Lou Schaub, Leni Schaub, Adriana, Everett, Anthony. Melanie is preceded in death by her mother Mary (Nancy) Williams (2011) and father Richard Williams (2017). A viewing will be held on Monday September 23 from 5-7pm at Sneed Funeral Home in Lampasas, TX. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday September 24th 10:00am at Nix Cemetery in Nix, TX.
