Mary Elizabeth Easterwood, 84, passed away in Gatesville, Texas on December 20, 2020.
Memorial Services will be held at Sneed Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2 pm.
Mary was born to Marion Oscar Easterwood and Clem Storm on April 25, 1936, at Brooks Crossing on the Lampasas River. She attended the first half of first grade in Topsey, Texas and after bus service came to her home she attended Lampasas Schools and graduated in 1954. While in high school she asked her uncle, Jim Storm, for a job at the Dairy Cue and she became the first female to work at the Cue, but she was not allowed to car-hop.
In the early 60s, her family moved to Lampasas and purchased a service station/picnic supply and bait stand on the eastern side of Lampasas near Gunderland Park and it was very successful. Mary worked for Mathes Company, City of Killeen, and had a small flea market type shop in Killeen for several years. Mary was a very talented artist from a young age. She continued painting and photography as a part-time income. Her portrait of the "Old High School" is now in the office of the new school and is an excellent example of her talent.
She is survived by her dear friend, Dawn Chizek; cousins, Robbis Storm, John Storm, Clayton Gotcher, and numerous extended family and friends.
