Martha Jean Grice, 92, formerly of Copperas Cove passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 in El Paso, TX. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove with burial following at the Copperas Cove City Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service.
Jean was born on October 18, 1923 in Carlton, TX to the late William and Mary Rains Hartin. She attended school in the Blue Ridge Community in Hamilton County. She was married to Thomas Newton Grice until his passing on August 19, 1970. Jean was a homemaker, a lifelong community volunteer, an avid reader and enjoyed being a mother and grandmother.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Thomas H. Grice; brothers, Curtis Hartin, Bill Hartin and one grandson Cody Rhoades.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Donna McCarthy and husband Bob of El Paso, TX, Mary Rhoades and husband, Royce of Izoro, TX; grandchildren, Tod Grice of Houston, TX, Melanie Grice of Buda, TX, Kyle Rhoades of Izoro, TX; and great grandchildren, Nathaniel Grice and Kyla Rhoades.
