Margie Kirby resident of Granbury, Texas died on January 22, 2018. Margie was born July 1, 1935 in Camden, Arkansas to James Roscoe Tollifson and Alice Bernice Robison Tollifson. Margie graduated from Camden High School, met her husband Bill Guesner while working her first job as a secretary, they married in 1955 and had three children. After the death of her husband Bill, Margie married George Weldon Kirby on August 24, 1979 and in 1984 they started the Kirby Stone Company of which they operated and ran until 2004. Over Margie’s lifetime her philanthropic investments endowed the Jamaican School of Preaching, The Weldon Kirby Music Program of Lometa, the Gospel Chariot Missions, the Michael J Fox Foundation, Abilene Christian University and the Hood County Fireman’s Association and many others. In addition, Margie personally blessed multiple young international scholars with their US Christian education. Margie was an avid soccer fan and advocate, coaching children’s soccer into her sixties. Her life-long legacy was about caring and giving to others. Margie was preceded in death by both parents, her four siblings Lawrence Edward, James Alfred and Thomas Alex Tollifson, Vivian Irene Tollifson O’Dell, her husband William Rick Guesner and son Gregory Rick Guesner. Preceding her in death is George Weldon Kirby her loving husband of 35 years who she will rest next to in Lometa, Texas. Survivors include her children Gayle Guesner Proctor, Ginger Guesner King and husband Kyle, Vickie Kirby Speck and husband Bob, Kimberly Kirby Becker and husband Lynn, Arthur Kirby and wife Deana, and Jimmy Kirby and wife Lissa. At the time of her death, 46 grandchildren and great grand-children with another two due in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J Fox Parkinson’s Foundation or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
