Marcy G. Burke, age 44, of Kempner, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 2920 S. FM 116 in Copperas Cove. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, August 14, 2017, at Scott's Funeral Home Copperas Cove.
Marcy was born on June 13, 1973, in Gainesville, Florida to John and Lynn Grantham Gainey. She graduated from Ed White High School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1991. When she was 18 years old, she moved to Sidney, New York for several years before moving to Texas in 2008. Marcy married Wayne Burke on December 21, 2012, in Kempner at Southern Hills Baptist Church where they are both members. The past few years she worked in Belton as Terminal Manager for A & G Commercial Trucking.
Marcy is survived by her husband, Wayne Burke; children, Joshua Cawley, Marisa Cawley; mother, Lynn Terry and husband, Wayne; father, John Gainey and wife, Judy; brothers, Rick Grantham, Nathan Terry; sisters, Shea Burgess, Hilary Foster, Lisa Swilley, Sherry Swilley; mother-in-law, Lawanda Paddock and husband, Ed; sisters-in-law, Missy Hagan, Deon Swan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
