Maj. Marcel Hull, USA (Ret.), passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Austin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Fr. Patrick Ebner officiating.  Interment with full military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Marcel was born on November 24, 1946 in Morbach, Germany.   As a child, he grew up in Germany and the United States, since his father served in various duty stations in the Army.  He graduated high school in Germany and then moved to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado, where he graduated with a B.A. in International Relations.  He immediately was commissioned and entered the US Army.  He served for 20 years in the Army, retiring from Ft. Hood as a Major.  He continued to work at Ft. Hood as a civil service employee and contractor until his retirement in 2014.

He loved traveling, nature walks and hikes and spending time with his family and friends.  He was always active in his community in Copperas Cove and his church.  He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Exchange Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maria Schmitt Hull.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Holle and husband, Geoff; son, C.J. Hull and wife, Kristi; brothers, Jim Hull and Ken Lindquist; four grandsons, Daniel, Hunter, Finley and Mason.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to Holy Family Catholic Church.
