Lynne M. Needham, age 62, passed away at home in Kempner on Thursday, May 6, 2021, surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at a later date in New Hampshire.
Lynne was born on October 26, 1958, in Fitchburg, MA to the late Charles Flagg and Dorothyann Cochran Hutchins. She was raised in Fitchburg with her large extended family. Her family and friends in Fitchburg were her everything. At the age of 18, she met Paul Raymond Needham, who was serving in the United States Army and stationed at Fort Devens. They were set up by Lynne’s mother who spotted Paul at the Blue Chip Lounge. Just a quick six months later, they married at Highland Baptist Church in Fitchburg on July 16, 1977. Lynne supported Paul throughout his military and his defense contractor career. This included many moves and deployments. They settled in central Texas in 1996. Over the years, she loved to crochet blankets, baby clothes and any new pattern she could get her hands on. Lynne loved to watch TV, especially crime shows and teasing her family that she was plotting against them. She also loved blasting country music and collecting bells from around the world. However, she was happiest when she was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lynne was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Fredrick Mallard; her brothers, Dennis Hutchins, Walter Hutchins, and Andrew Flagg.
Lynne is survived by her husband of 43 years, Paul R. Needham; children, Jennifer Lin Farnum, Rayanne Nicole Polm and husband, Douglas, Paul Needham Jr., Matthew Joseph Needham and wife, Molly; sister, Patricia Flagg; brother, Daniel Flagg; 11 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her beloved pets.
Memorials may be given in Lynne’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
