Lino E. Charles Ferrer, age 82, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, passed away in Killeen. Services will be scheduled later in Puerto Rico.
Lino was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico to the late Edwardo Charles and Ana Maria Ferrer. He attended Central High School in San Juan, PR in 1956 where he known for his ping pong skills. He also enjoyed bowling most of his life. In 1958, he began his career at Autoridad de Fuentes Fluviales, the only electric company in Puerto Rico. Lino retired from there after 28 years. He married Irma Rivera Mojica on November 19, 1960, his high school sweetheart, at a Methodist Church in San Juan. A marriage that lasted almost 61 years. Lino was a natural handyman who was self-taught through reading. Even in his older days, he embraced technology and learned to adapt.
Lino was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, German, Lucy, Oscar Augusto, Eric Etienne and Oscar.
Lino is survived by his wife, Irma Rivera Mojica; daughters, Marilyn Gouraige, Ayleen Charles, Jeannette Charles, Julie Charles; son, Eddie Charles; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
