Linda Hinds Riendeau, 64, of Kempner passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at home. Linda was born on November 14, 1948 in Denver, Colorado to the late George and Dorothy (Schnatz) Burkhalter. She graduated from Lakewood High School in Colorado and moved to Texas to attend Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene where she met and married Carl Hinds. Their two children, Lori and Freddy, were born during his military career, which included service locations in Germany and throughout the U.S.

In 1990 they were assigned to Ft Hood, where she remained, settling in Copperas Cove. Linda worked at First National Bank and later as the church secretary at First Baptist Church in Copperas Cove where she has been a faithful member ever since. Her pastimes included singing in the church choir, gardening, and reading.  Throughout her life she maintained an interest in art.  As an aficionado of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and Tiffany glass, she made numerous trips throughout the U.S. to see their various collections.

With a quiet, gentle disposition, she was a selfless and caring mother and friend. On January 5, 2013 she married Pete Riendeau of Kempner, by whom she is survived, along with her children; Lori Root and husband, Lee of Colorado Springs, CO; Freddy Hinds of Richardson; and her sister, Susan Folsom of Lake Mary, FL.
