Linda Eckermann

November 17, 1956 — April 4, 2023

Linda Eckermann, 66, passed away on April 4, 2023, peacefully at her home surrounded by family.  She was born on November 17, 1956, in Wichita Falls, TX to Jim and Marie Goforth.

Visitation will be held at Grace Fellowship Church on Saturday, April 8, 2023, starting at 9:30 am with a service to follow at 11 am.  Private family burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Linda grew up in Wichita Falls, TX then her family relocated to Lampasas in her high school years.  She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1975.  On August 23, 1975, she married the love of her life, Terry.  In the early years of the marriage, Linda stayed home with her children and helped raise her many nieces and nephews.  Linda attended the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor where she received her teaching degree.  She retired from the Lampasas School District in 2018 after her diagnosis of cancer.  Linda loved teaching and loved all of her friends she made while she taught.  Her friends were like family to her.  She was known to all as a warrior and never gave up on her battle.

Linda and her twin sister Brenda were inseparable.  Even in her later years, Linda and Brenda would attend the same events wearing the same outfits out of coincidence.  Linda loved her sisters and appreciated all they did for her.

Linda and Terry were happily married for 47 years.  Linda's children and grandchildren were her everything.  She enjoyed attending all of their sporting events and loved spending time with each of them.  Linda would always call to check on them, if she could be at their games, she was there.  Her grandkids were her purpose in life, and she battled through every day to be with them.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Goforth.

Linda is survived by her spouse, Terry of Lampasas; her sons, Heath Eckermann and wife Brandy of San Saba, Derrek Eckermann and wife Colleen of Lampasas; mother, Marie Goforth of Lampasas; twin sister, Brenda Collins and husband Greg of Lampasas; Janice Canales and husband Tony of Lampasas, Gail Bell Jenkins of Lampasas; her grandchildren, Kylee and Jim Eckermann, Layton and Cora Eckermann and her many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and other relatives.

"May God give to you and all who you love his comfort and his peace, his light and his joy."

Linda will be greatly missed by all.  Thank you to all of her family and friends who were there for her through her battle.
